Google Business Products

Show customers selected physical products directly on the Business Profile with accurate images, descriptions, prices and links.

Add a Product

Who Should Use the Product Editor?

Google’s Product Editor is intended mainly for local stores selling physical goods, particularly products without barcodes or live inventory data.

Suitable

Local retailers with a manageable range of important physical products they want customers to discover.

Services

Businesses selling services should normally use the Services editor rather than presenting services as products.

Food and Drink

Dining businesses should normally use Google’s menu features for dishes and beverages.

Barcoded Inventory

Retailers with barcodes and current stock data may be better suited to Merchant Center or Google’s local inventory tools.

Online Stores

A connected Merchant Center account may manage product information instead of the manual Profile Product Editor.

Availability

Product features vary by business category, location, account and Google’s current product settings.

Product Information to Prepare

Create consistent information before opening the editor.

A clear and accurate product name
A sharp product image you may legally use
The correct product category or collection
A current price or permitted price range
A concise customer-focused description
A working product or enquiry link
Accurate availability information
Confirmation that the product follows Google policy

Add a Product

Google’s labels may change, but the current process normally follows these steps.

Open the Business Profile. Sign in to the managing Google account and find the business on Google Search.
Select Edit products. If Merchant Center is linked, Google may direct product management there instead.
Add the product details. Complete the available image, name, category, price, description and button fields.
Check the destination. Make sure the button opens the correct product, shop, booking or enquiry page on a phone.
Select Publish. Submit the product and allow Google time to review it.
Review the public result. Check the product information and image crop from a customer’s perspective.

Product Photography Tips

A strong image helps customers recognise the item and understand what they will receive.

Use Good Light

Photograph the product in bright, even light while keeping colour and texture realistic.

Keep It Clear

Use a clean background and make the product the obvious focus of the image.

Show Reality

Avoid excessive filters, misleading scale, false accessories or edits that change the real product.

Product Quality Checklist

Review every entry before and after publishing.

The product is genuinely available from the business.
The name matches the website and store.
The image shows the correct product.
The price is current and unambiguous.
The description explains the main customer benefit.
The button link works correctly.
Spelling and measurements are accurate.
The product meets Google’s policies.

Avoid These Problems

Product data must remain accurate and policy compliant.

Publishing products the business does not sell
Using copied images without permission
Leaving old prices or unavailable items online
Using a general homepage instead of a relevant link
Adding services as though they were physical products
Making unsupported health, performance or quality claims
Submitting prohibited or restricted products
Duplicating the same item unnecessarily
Policy: Products submitted through the Product Editor must follow Google’s Shopping policies. Violations can lead to limited visibility, disapproval or removal of uploaded products.

Maintain the Product List

Treat product information as active business content.

Review regularly. Check prices, availability, descriptions and links on a schedule appropriate to the business.
Edit changed products. Open Edit products, select the item, update its fields and publish the revision.
Remove discontinued items. Delete products that are no longer sold rather than leaving misleading information public.
Resolve disapprovals. Open a Not Approved product, read the stated reason, correct the problem and submit it for re-review where available.

Common Questions

Why can’t I see Edit products?

The feature may not be available for the business category, region or profile. A linked Merchant Center account may also change where products are managed.

Should I add every product?

Start with a useful selection of important products that can be maintained accurately. A neglected catalogue can reduce customer trust.

What if my products have barcodes?

Google recommends considering Merchant Center or local inventory tools for retailers with barcoded products and current stock data.

Why is a product marked Not Approved?

Open the product to read Google’s reason, correct the data or policy issue, save the change and request review where that option is available.

Can I list a service as a product?

Use the Services editor for services. Use the Product Editor for suitable physical goods.

Official guidance: Review Google’s current Product Editor instructions and product approval policies.
