Click the star beside an email when you need to find it again quickly.

🏷️ Use Labels

Create labels such as Orders, Invoices, Family, Bookings, Receipts, or Work.

🔍 Use Search

Type a name, subject, date, or word into the Gmail search bar to find old emails.

🧹 Archive Finished Emails

Archive removes emails from the Inbox but keeps them safely searchable.

Part 4 — Safe Email Rules

Email scams are common. These rules help protect beginners.

Never give your password, banking login, card details, or security code by email. Real banks, Google, courier companies, and government agencies should not ask for your password by email.

Check the Sender

Look carefully at the email address. Scammers often use addresses that look almost correct.

Be Careful with Links

Do not click links in suspicious emails. Go to the official website yourself instead.

Watch for Urgency

Scam emails often say “urgent”, “account locked”, “final warning”, or “payment failed”.

Use Two-Step Verification

This adds an extra security step when signing in and makes your account much safer.

Part 5 — Troubleshooting

All troubleshooting buttons now open the dedicated Gmail Support page.

Attachment Message

Password Reset Note

I need to reset my Gmail password. I should use Google’s official account recovery process and never give my password to anyone by email, text, or phone.

Suspicious Email Note

This email looks suspicious. I will not click the link or open attachments until I confirm it is genuine.

Recommended Beginner Practice

Practice these tasks until they feel easy.

  1. Send yourself a short test email.
  2. Reply to your own test email.
  3. Forward the test email to a trusted contact.
  4. Send one photo as an attachment.
  5. Search for the test email by subject.
  6. Star the email.
  7. Archive the email.
  8. Find it again using All Mail or Search.

Best beginner habit: use a clear subject line. Example: “Invoice for lawn mowing — July 2026” is much easier to find later than “Hi”.
