Use this order: check power, check signal, restart, reconnect, then test another app.

Common problems

TV says “No internet”Check whether another device can use the Wi-Fi. Restart the TV and router, but do not factory-reset the router.
Hotspot does not appearTurn hotspot off and on, keep its settings screen open, move phone closer, and rescan on the TV.
Netflix buffers or picture is blurryImprove signal, stop other downloads, reduce Netflix data use, or return to home Wi-Fi.
Netflix app freezesExit the app, restart the television and reopen Netflix. Check for TV software and app updates.
Forgotten Netflix passwordUse Netflix’s official password-reset process. Never give a password or verification code to an unsolicited caller.
No soundCheck mute and volume. Try another programme and restart the TV or soundbar.

  • Streaming quality affects data use
  • High-definition video uses more data than standard quality
  • Turn hotspot off after viewing
  • Check mobile-plan usage in the provider’s app
  • Avoid large TV or app updates over a limited hotspot

Security basics

  • Use a hotspot password that others cannot easily guess
  • Do not share Netflix passwords publicly
  • Never read verification codes to unexpected callers
  • Only enter payment details in the official Netflix app or website
  • Sign out before giving away or selling a television
