Before you begin

Load budget, autonomy target and site environmental data.

Safety: Use site procedures, approved test equipment and competent supervision. Never bypass a protection or interlock without formal control.

Step-by-step learning

  1. Calculate continuous and surge load, losses and required autonomy.
  2. Size battery/charger or solar system with ageing and poor-weather margin.
  3. Alarm mains failure, low battery, enclosure temperature, intrusion and communications loss.
  4. Provide remote diagnostics and a safe local manual mode.

  • Measure actual site current over time before finalising a solar power budget.
  • Remote reset is useful only when it cannot defeat safety or conceal a recurring fault.

  • What should be happening, and what evidence proves it?
  • Where is the last known correct signal, voltage, state or process condition?
  • What changed immediately before the fault?
  • Can the system be divided into smaller testable sections?
